What System Info shows, and what it copies
System Info is a Plathix Free screen that lists the server, WordPress and Plathix setup, runs eight Plathix health checks and copies everything as plain text for support. These checks open the screen on working sites and compare what it shows with the real server and the installed build. Three checks passed; the copy button in a browser, failing health states and the current 1.0.0 release are still to be tested. Related rows of the regression suite are listed below them.
The claim we are testing
“System Info puts those answers on one screen. Copy the report as plain text and paste it into a support ticket, email, or hosting chat.”
Why this is worth testing
A support report only helps if it shows the site as it really is. So the checks compare what System Info shows with values taken straight from the server and from the installed build, and they open the screen the way people reach it: from the status badge on Plathix Home.
What we check
- Open Plathix Home on a working site and follow the “All good” badge to System Info.
- Compare the PHP version and the temp folder write status with the server itself.
- Compare “Plugin Build” with the build installed on the site.
- Check the presets table and the presets folder guard.
- Click Copy for support in a browser and read what lands on the clipboard.
- Make the health checks fail on purpose: a full or read-only temp folder, failed background jobs.
Results
| What we checked | Result |
|---|---|
| Home status link | Passed — “All good” opened System Info and the core health checks were green |
| Server + build | Passed — the PHP version and the temp folder write status matched the server; Plugin Build matched the installed build |
| Presets checks | Passed — presets table “Exists”, directory guard “Protected” |
| Copy for support in a browser | Scheduled — a browser run is scheduled |
| Failing health states | Scheduled — a run with forced failures is scheduled |
| Current 1.0.0 release | Scheduled — the runs above used builds up to 8 Sep 2026; a rerun on the release build is scheduled |
Earlier regression checks
System Info is also part of the Free regression suite that runs before a release. These are its related checks with the latest result, from the runs of 18 Aug and 9 Sep 2026 on two live sites with Plathix Free 1.0.0.
| What we checked | Result |
|---|---|
| System Info shows the same plugin version as the Plugins screen | Passed |
| System Info opens from the footer link of a Plathix page | Passed — September run |
| Without PRO, System Info shows no PRO data | Passed — August run |
| System Info shows the SVG sanitizer as available | Passed |
How we tested
Latest runs: the Free regression runs of 18 Aug and 9 Sep 2026 on two live WordPress sites with Plathix Free 1.0.0 builds up to 8 Sep 2026 and WordPress 7.1. In the August run the PHP version and the temp folder were checked against the server over SSH. The current release build b9d2149b has not been tested on this screen yet.
Known limits
- System Info shows the setup at the moment the page is opened. It does not monitor the site or send alerts.
- Copy for support copies plain text to the clipboard. The colours and OK or problem marks are not part of the text.
- The copied text includes the site URL, a server temp path and the database table prefix.
- The WP-Cron row checks the DISABLE_WP_CRON setting. It does not test whether WP-Cron actually runs.
- In Plathix 1.0.0 the interface is in English.
Not covered yet
- Multisite.
- Access for roles other than Administrator.
- Hosts that disable PHP functions such as php_uname.
- The PRO row “Audit Log Retention”.
- Translated interfaces.
