Folders for the types you build with CPT UI

Custom Post Type UI gives you a new content type in a minute: Projects, Team, Services, Testimonials. A few years later the Projects list holds every client you ever had.

Plathix PRO adds private folders to the list of each type you created. Group items by client, service or year and open just the folder you need. URLs, slugs and content stay as they are.

One long list

A new type takes a minute. Sorting it takes years.

Each type you create with CPT UI gets a plain WordPress list: titles, a date and the status tabs. That is fine for twenty items.

At two hundred, the team scrolls past old clients to find this month’s work. A new taxonomy just for sorting is one more thing to set up, and if it is public, one more archive on the site.

Folders give each type a private structure that only your team sees.

In people’s words

Quick to create, hard to sort later

People who build sites with CPT UI say a new type takes minutes. The questions come later, when the list is full and the team needs its own groups.

On the Posts list you can filter by category. On the new Resources list that filter was not there, so nobody could narrow the list.

The project is years old. Taxonomies were added along the way, and the team still wants a simple way to sort the list in the backend.

People want to open the list of all their custom posts and see at a glance how each one is grouped.

As a project grows and the content gets more varied, things get messy fast.

Folders add that order to each type’s list in wp-admin, without a taxonomy of your own. URLs and archives stay as they are.

Folders that match how you use your types

By client

One folder per client in Projects. A returning client’s work is one click away.

By service

In a Services or Team type, group items by department or office instead of scrolling through all of them.

Work to do

Projects that still need a case study, photos or a client quote, next to the list itself.

By year

Old work stays published for your portfolio and moves out of the daily list.

What you get

Each type you create, its own folder tree

One tree per type

Projects folders never mix with Team or Services folders. Turn each type on in Settings → General → Enabled Sections.

Search and tabs inside a folder

Search, the status tabs and the date filter work inside the open folder.

A Folder column

Every row shows its folder; click it to open that folder.

Drafts are counted

Folder counts include drafts, scheduled and private items, so nothing you parked goes missing.

Virtual folders

Your post types never see your folders

CPT UI folders FAQ

Which of my CPT UI types can get folders?
Every type with Show UI on and a slug of 17 characters or fewer. Turn each one on in Settings → General → Enabled Sections.
Do folders change my URLs or archives?
No. Folders live in wp-admin only. Slugs, archives and menus stay as they are.
Do I need to add a taxonomy?
No. Plathix keeps its folders separately. Your own taxonomies stay for what visitors see.
What happens if I export my CPT UI settings to another site?
Only the type’s settings travel. Folders are not part of CPT UI settings, so each site keeps its own.
Is this in Plathix Free?
No. Content folders are part of Plathix PRO. Free organizes the Media Library.
