Polylang compatibility
TestedFolders are shared across languages. Plathix tells Polylang that its folders are not translatable, so a file uploaded while the admin is in English lands in the same folder as one uploaded in Russian, and folder counts read the same in every language.

What was checked
| ID | What we did, and what happened | Result |
|---|---|---|
| M99 | Upload one file with the admin language set to English and another with it set to Russian, both into the same folder. Both files land in that folder and its count reads 2. | Passed |
| M99 | Switch the admin language between the default, English, Spanish and Russian. The folder count does not change. | Passed |
Watch the checkHow we checked. Opened Marketing Campaigns → Summer Campaign with the admin language set to English, switched the language in the admin bar to Deutsch, uploaded watch-box-open.png into the open folder, then switched back to English. What you see. The same folder tree and the same count in both admin languages (6), the upload landing in the open folder (7), and after switching back to English the folder still shows all seven files. Folders are shared across languages, nothing is duplicated per language. Recorded on 22 Sep 2026 on plathix-demo.com: WordPress 7.1.2, Twenty Twenty-Five, Plathix 1.0.0 Free. |

| M17 | Open the WooCommerce product image picker with Polylang and seven other plugins active. The picker shows the folder tree and selection works. | Passed |
| M19 | With Polylang’s language filter set to one language, the media grid showed fewer files than the folder count. Switching the other eight plugins off one by one traced it to the Polylang filter itself; Plathix counts were correct throughout. | Passed |
Known limitations
- Polylang’s language filter in the admin bar also filters the media grid. If the grid seems to be missing files while the folder count is higher, switch that filter to “Show all languages”. Plathix counts every file no matter what the filter is set to.
Test setup
- Install and activate Plathix. There is no Polylang setting to turn on, and folders are not duplicated per language.
- If Polylang is active but you have not added a language yet, Plathix still shows all your files.
Retest
Repeated on every Plathix release. WPML will get its own page after its own test run; the hub says where that stands.
