Folders on a large Media Library
Everything feels fast on a demo site with forty files. This test runs on a deliberately large, measured library and records how scrolling, folder switching and bulk actions behave as the number of files grows.
The claim we are testing
“Plathix can ask for confirmation before you move, delete, or rebuild 10 or more items. The check is on by default.”
Why this is worth testing
A media library does not stay small. The question is not whether folders work, but where the behaviour changes — the point at which a grid stutters or a bulk move needs a different approach. Publishing that point is more useful than claiming there is not one.
What we check
- Dataset size and how it was generated, stated up front.
- Time to first paint of the Media Library grid at that size.
- Scrolling with infinite scroll on, measured rather than described.
- Switching between folders with large file counts.
- A bulk move over a large selection, start to finish.
- Where behaviour changes, and what we recommend at that point.
Test in progress
The scope above is fixed, the run has not happened yet. When it does, this page gets the setup we used, a recording of each check, the numbers, and anything that did not work — including the parts that went against us.
We publish the result either way. That is the point of Lab.
