Infinite scroll in the media picker
One Plathix setting changes both the Media Library grid and the media picker WordPress opens inside an editor. This test checks that the same behaviour really does reach the picker in Gutenberg and Elementor, and what happens to folder filtering while more files load.
The claim we are testing
“Turn on infinite scroll for the Media Library. The same setting also applies when WordPress opens a media picker, including Gutenberg and Elementor.”
Why this is worth testing
A setting that works in the Media Library but silently stops at the editor is worse than no setting: you turn it on, the person adding an image never sees the difference, and nobody knows why. The picker is where most images are actually chosen, so that is where the behaviour has to hold.
What we check
- The setting is off: the picker paginates as WordPress normally does.
- The setting is on: scrolling the picker loads more files without a page change.
- The same result in the Gutenberg image block and in the Elementor image widget.
- A folder is selected in the picker: loading more files keeps that folder filter.
- The Unsorted view behaves the same as a normal folder.
- Nothing is lost at the boundary between two loaded batches.
Test in progress
The scope above is fixed, the run has not happened yet. When it does, this page gets the setup we used, a recording of each check, the numbers, and anything that did not work — including the parts that went against us.
We publish the result either way. That is the point of Lab.
