Moving content from Quick Edit
PRO adds a folder field to WordPress Quick Edit, so a post or page can change folder from the list screen. This test measures what that saves against opening the editor, and records exactly which screens the field appears on.
The claim we are testing
“Add a folder field to Quick Edit on WordPress content list screens. Move a post, page, or supported custom post type without opening the editor.”
Why this is worth testing
Refiling content is the kind of job that happens twenty items at a time, usually after someone rethinks the structure. Opening each item in the editor to change one field is the slow path. This test is about whether the fast path holds up over a real batch, not over one item.
What we check
- The field appears in Quick Edit on the Posts list screen.
- The same on Pages and on a supported custom post type.
- The current folder is pre-selected, not blank.
- Saving moves the item and the Folder column updates without a reload.
- Timing for refiling ten items this way against opening each editor.
- The Media Library screen is out of scope: this field runs on content list screens.
Test in progress
The scope above is fixed, the run has not happened yet. When it does, this page gets the setup we used, a recording of each check, the numbers, and anything that did not work — including the parts that went against us.
We publish the result either way. That is the point of Lab.
