Folders for Easy Accordion FAQs
With Easy Accordion, every page gets its own FAQ group: one for pricing, one for each service, one for each product. Soon the group names all look the same.
Plathix PRO adds private folders to Manage FAQ Groups and to All FAQ Items. Group them by page, product or team. Every accordion, its shortcode and the page that shows it stay as they are.
A FAQ group for every page and they all look alike
One Easy Accordion group is one accordion on one page. A site with many service or product pages ends up with a long list of groups called “FAQ”, “FAQ – new” and “FAQ (copy)”.
In the free plugin, FAQ groups and FAQ items have no categories, so the name is the only way to tell them apart.
More FAQs, more groups to keep apart
People who build FAQ sections page by page describe the moment it stops being simple.
As more FAQs were added, the site got really hard to manage, so an accordion plugin came in to make it easier.
Every product page should get its own quick FAQ.
One FAQ group is used on two pages, and each page needs it a little different.
Folders by page, product or team keep those groups apart in the list. Each accordion, its shortcode and the page that shows it stay as they are.
Folders that match the pages you build
By page
Service pages, product pages and the pricing page each get a folder, so you open the group for the page you are editing.
By product
Product FAQ groups in one folder, with a subfolder for each product line.
By owner
Support writes some answers, sales writes others. A folder for each team shows who keeps which group up to date.
Drafts and tests
Try a new layout in a test group and keep it in Drafts & tests. The groups on live pages stay easy to find.
Two lists, two folder trees
FAQ groups
Manage FAQ Groups gets a folder panel. One group is one accordion, so folders sort your accordions.
FAQ items
All FAQ Items is a separate list, so it gets its own tree, apart from the groups.
A Folder column
Every row shows its folder; click it to open that folder.
Where the lists are
Easy Accordion shows these lists to administrators by default. The folder panel appears where the list appears.
Easy Accordion never sees your folders
| What you do | What changes | What stays as it is |
|---|---|---|
| Put a FAQ group in a folder | Its Plathix folder | The group, its questions and its settings |
| Rename or move a folder | The folder tree in wp-admin | The shortcode and the page that shows it |
| Put a FAQ item in a folder | Its Plathix folder | The item and every group that shows it |
| Trash a group, then restore it | Its Trash state | Its folder: it comes back to the same place |
| Turn Plathix PRO off | The list looks like plain WordPress | Your folders wait in the database and come back |
Folders have no URLs and never appear on the site.
How we test Easy Accordion
We run each check on a live site with Plathix PRO and the current Easy Accordion version, on the real FAQ groups and FAQ items screens.
Status Planned
Results go to Plathix Lab. Each row turns into a link once it has run.
| Check | What we verify | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Enable FAQ groups | Turn on FAQ groups in Enabled Sections; the panel appears on Manage FAQ Groups. | Planned |
| FAQ items tree | All FAQ Items gets its own tree, apart from the groups. | Planned |
| Folder column | The Folder column next to the plugin’s own Shortcode column. | Planned |
| Shortcode unchanged | Move a group between folders: the page that shows it looks the same. | Planned |
| Trash and restore | A trashed group comes back to its folder. | Planned |
