Folders for WP Job Manager jobs

Expired and filled jobs stay in the admin list. After a few hiring seasons, the ten jobs that are open today sit between hundreds that closed long ago.

Plathix PRO adds private folders to the Job Manager list. Group jobs by employer, client or department and open just the folder you need. Status, expiry dates, categories and job pages stay as they are.

Closed jobs stay

Three hundred old jobs around ten open ones

By default, WP Job Manager does not delete a job when it expires. It sets the status to Expired, and the job stays in the admin list. Filled jobs stay too. Many sites keep them on purpose, for their records or for search traffic, so the list grows every month.

The settings that hide expired and filled jobs work on the job board, for visitors. In wp-admin you still see every job.

There is no admin filter by employer either. Company is a field, so people add a public category or tag for each client, just to find their jobs again.

In people’s words

Hundreds of expired jobs, kept on purpose

People who run job boards rarely want to delete old jobs. They keep them for their records and for search traffic, so the admin list only grows.

Old jobs leave the job board, but every one of them is still there in the admin.

About sixty live jobs, and around three hundred expired ones kept to look back on.

Expired jobs still bring visitors from search. Delete them, and search engines start to complain.

Employers keep adding more and more jobs. Each job also gets a category with the company name, only to list one company’s jobs together.

Old jobs can stay. File them in folders by client or by year, and the open jobs are one click away.

Folders that match how you hire

By employer or client

Agencies and job boards post for many companies. One folder per client shows everything that client has posted, open or closed.

By department

Sales, warehouse, office: each team finds its own jobs without a public category for every department.

By hiring round

Spring 2026, summer staff, graduate program: keep each round together, from the first post to the last filled job.

Closed jobs by year

Move expired and filled jobs into a folder for their year. They keep their status and their URL; you just stop scrolling past them.

Jobs you post again

Some roles open every season. Keep the posts that worked in one folder, so the next season starts from a good example.

What you get

The folder panel on the Job Listings screen

A folder tree next to your jobs

The panel sits beside Job Manager → Job Listings. Click a folder and the list shows only its jobs.

Status tabs and search inside a folder

Open a folder, then click Expired or search by title: you see only that folder’s jobs.

Counts that include expired jobs

A folder counts what the All view shows: published, expired, scheduled, draft, pending and private jobs. Trash and job previews are not counted.

A link for each folder

The address changes when you open a folder, so you can bookmark it or send it to a recruiter.

Virtual folders

The job board never sees your folders

WP Job Manager folders FAQ

Do folders change my jobs or the job board?
No. Folders live in wp-admin only. Status, expiry date, categories and job pages stay as they are.
Will a folder called Archive hide old jobs from visitors?
No. To hide expired or filled jobs on the job board, use WP Job Manager’s own settings. A folder only groups jobs in wp-admin.
Are expired jobs counted in the folder?
Yes. Expired jobs show in the All view, so they count. Trash and job previews do not.
Do I still need a category for each client?
Not for your own sorting. Categories are public on the job board; a folder groups jobs for your team only.
Can each employer see only their own folder?
No. Folders are not permissions. They help the people who manage the jobs list.
Is this in Plathix Free?
No. Content folders are part of Plathix PRO. Free organizes the Media Library.
