A folder of files, a download list on the page
Newsletters, reports, price lists, forms, brochures: put the files in a folder and show that folder on a page as a list people can download from.
It is the same shortcode as Folder galleries, with the Documents layout. Add a file to the folder and it joins the list, without editing the page.
One line on the page, the list stays current
A real download list
Each file gets a file-type icon, its title and a Download button. Icons cover 75 file types, including PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ZIP. The file size is optional.
The folder is the source
Files stay in your Media Library. Add one to the folder, or move one out, and the list follows.
Show what you need
Turn the icon, the file size and the Download button on or off. Choose the icon size and the sort order.
The same shortcode
If you know Folder galleries, there is nothing new to learn. Choose Docs in the shortcode generator, or set the preset yourself.
Before you build the list
Up to 500 files in one list
There is no pagination or Load more. For a bigger archive, use several folders and several lists.
No search on the page
Visitors see the list in the order you set. They cannot search or filter it.
Links are open
The Download button links directly to the file. A document list does not put files behind a login.
Page caches
The list updates at once, but a page cache shows the new version only after it refreshes.
Needs an active PRO licence
Document galleries are part of Plathix PRO, like the other gallery layouts.
How we test document galleries
We run each check on a live site with Plathix PRO.
Status Planned
Results go to Plathix Lab. Each row turns into a link once it has run.
