Folders for the Divi Library
Every Divi site collects saved items: page layouts, hero sections, pricing rows, the same contact module saved three times. On a busy client site the Divi Library grows to hundreds of names.
Plathix PRO adds private folders to the Divi Library list in wp-admin. Sort layouts, sections, rows and modules by client, page or project, and open just the folder you need. The items, and every page built from them, stay as they are.
Hundreds of saved items in one flat list
The Divi Library shows everything in one list: full layouts next to single modules, this year’s client next to a site you finished long ago.
Divi has categories, tags and type filters. Still, on a live client site a messy library often stays messy: nobody wants to break a page while cleaning up.
A library that runs the site, too messy to touch
Ask about the Divi Library and people talk about the mess, and about how risky it feels to tidy it on a live site.
The library that runs a client site is a mess. You want to tidy it without breaking a live page.
More than three hundred saved layouts, and some come in nine versions with almost the same name.
You saved many pages and sections to reuse them. Now you want to delete some, only to cut the clutter.
A global section is shared by every page that uses it. Delete something inside it by mistake and it is gone everywhere.
A folder tree sorts the Divi Library without editing or deleting a single item, so every page stays as it is.
Folders that match how you build with Divi
By client
One folder per client. The next page for that client starts from its own sections, rows and modules.
By part of the page
Heroes, pricing rows, team sections, contact modules: find the right piece without remembering its name.
Before and after a redesign
Keep the old design and the new one apart while you rebuild a site, so nobody adds last year’s hero to a new page.
Finished projects
Items from a finished site move to an archive folder instead of being deleted. Tidy up without touching a single layout.
One folder panel on the Divi Library list
A folder tree next to the library
The panel sits beside the Divi Library list. Click a folder and the list shows only its items.
One tree for every item type
Layouts, sections, rows and modules share one list, so they share one folder tree.
A Folder column
Every row shows its folder; click it to open that folder.
A link for each folder
The address changes when you open a folder, so you can bookmark it or send it to a teammate.
Divi never sees your folders
| What you do | What changes | What stays as it is |
|---|---|---|
| Put a layout in a folder | Its Plathix folder | The layout, its type, categories and tags |
| Rename or move a folder | The folder tree in wp-admin | Every page built from your library items |
| Add an item from the library in the Visual Builder | Nothing | The builder’s library works as before |
| Trash a library item, then restore it | Its Trash state | Its folder: it comes back to the same place |
| Turn Plathix PRO off | The list looks like plain WordPress | Your folders wait in the database and come back |
Folders have no URLs and never appear on the site.
How we test the Divi Library
We run each check on a live site with Plathix PRO and the current Divi 5 version, on the real Divi Library screen.
Status Planned
Results go to Plathix Lab. Each row turns into a link once it has run.
| Check | What we verify | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Enable Layouts | Tick Layouts (et_pb_layout) in Enabled Sections; the panel appears on the Divi Library list. | Planned |
| Divi filters | Folder view together with the type, scope and category filters. | Planned |
| All item types | Layouts, sections, rows and modules in one tree. | Planned |
| Visual Builder unchanged | Add an item from a folder to a page: the page looks the same. | Planned |
| Trash and restore | A trashed library item comes back to its folder. | Planned |
