Folders for Elementor templates
Saved templates pile up fast: a header for every client, sections for every landing page, popups for every campaign. After a year the list is two hundred names long.
Plathix PRO adds private folders to the Elementor templates list. Group templates by client, project or section and open just the folder you need. The templates themselves, and every page that uses them, stay as they are.
Two hundred templates and no way to sort them
The Elementor templates list shows everything at once: sections, headers, footers, popups, old drafts from a project that ended last year.
Elementor used to have template categories. In Elementor 4 that screen is gone, and there is no way left to filter templates by project or page.
More templates, more mess
People who build with Elementor every day describe the same curve. A few templates are easy to manage. After a few projects the list stops helping.
Fifty section templates on one site. To edit one, you page through the list until you find it.
With a few templates it is fine. With many it gets messy, so you start adding v1.0 and v2.0 to the names to keep track.
Up to two hundred templates across several projects, and no way to filter the sections of one page from the rest.
A separate popup for every product, about thirty of them, almost the same.
Folders give the templates list a shape: by client, by project or by part of the page.
Folders that match how you build sites
By client
One folder per client, so the next site starts from the right header, footer and sections.
By part of the page
Headers, footers, heroes, pricing tables, forms: find the right block without remembering its name.
Popups by campaign
Elementor Pro keeps popups in the same list. Give each campaign its folder and the rest of the year stays tidy.
Finished projects
Templates from a finished project move to an archive folder instead of being deleted.
The same folder panel as in the Media Library
A folder tree next to the list
The panel sits beside the Elementor templates list. Click a folder and the list shows only its templates.
One tree for templates and popups
Saved templates and Elementor Pro popups share one list, so they share one folder tree.
A Folder column
Every row shows its folder; click it to open that folder.
A link for each folder
The address changes when you open a folder, so you can bookmark it or send it to a teammate.
Elementor never sees your folders
| What you do | What changes | What stays as it is |
|---|---|---|
| Put a template in a folder | Its Plathix folder | The template, its content and its type |
| Rename or move a folder | The folder tree in wp-admin | Every page that uses the template |
| Insert a template in the editor | Nothing | The editor’s template library works as before |
| Trash a template, then restore it | Its Trash state | Its folder: it comes back to the same place |
| Turn Plathix PRO off | The list looks like plain WordPress | Your folders wait in the database and come back |
Folders have no URLs and never appear on the site.
How we test Elementor templates
We run each check on a live site with Plathix PRO and the current Elementor version, on the real templates screen.
Status Planned
Results go to Plathix Lab. Each row turns into a link once it has run.
| Check | What we verify | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Enable templates | Turn on Elementor templates in Enabled Sections; the panel appears on the list. | Planned |
| Saved Templates tab | Folder filter together with the Saved Templates view. | Planned |
| Popups | Elementor Pro popups in the same tree. | Planned |
| Editor unchanged | Insert a template from a folder: the page looks the same. | Planned |
| Trash and restore | A trashed template comes back to its folder. | Planned |
