Folders for Envira galleries
A new Envira gallery takes a minute, so sites collect many: product photos, team pictures, before-and-after sets, one gallery for each blog post.
Plathix PRO adds private folders to the Envira galleries list. Group galleries by product, page or location and open only the folder you need. Each gallery and the pages that show it stay as they are.
Galleries pile up one page at a time
Each blog post, product or landing page gets its own gallery. The Envira list shows them all in one column, newest first.
Envira Gallery Lite has no categories for galleries. The Posts column tells you where a gallery is used, but not which project it belongs to.
Hundreds of galleries, sometimes thousands
People who run gallery sites talk about the count first, long before they talk about any one gallery.
Around 3,500 galleries on one site. Another site has more than 4,000.
About 400 galleries to go through, one by one.
Several thousand galleries spread over many albums, and putting each one in the right place is a job of its own.
Ten years of wedding work adds up to thousands of galleries and posts.
A folder per product, page or year turns one long Envira list into short ones. Each gallery stays on the pages that show it.
Folders that follow what the galleries are for
By product
Product galleries in one folder, with a subfolder for each product line. New photos go straight to the right place.
By post or page
Galleries made for blog posts stay apart from galleries made for pages, so you find the one to reuse.
By location
Restaurants, schools and clinics with several places keep each location’s galleries together.
Past campaigns
Galleries from old campaigns move to an archive folder instead of being deleted, in case a page still shows them.
The same folder panel as in the Media Library
A folder tree next to the list
The panel sits beside the Envira galleries list. Click a folder and the list shows only its galleries.
A Folder column
Every row shows its folder, beside Envira’s own Shortcode and Posts columns.
Search inside a folder
Search, status tabs and the date filter work inside the open folder.
A link for each folder
The address changes when you open a folder, so you can bookmark it or send it to a teammate.
Envira never sees your folders
| What you do | What changes | What stays as it is |
|---|---|---|
| Put a gallery in a folder | Its Plathix folder | The gallery, its images and its settings |
| Rename or move a folder | The folder tree in wp-admin | Every page that shows the gallery |
| Copy a gallery shortcode | Nothing | The shortcode is the same in any folder |
| Trash a gallery, then restore it | Its Trash state | Its folder: it comes back to the same place |
| Turn Plathix PRO off | The list looks like plain WordPress | Your folders wait in the database and come back |
Folders have no URLs and never appear on the site.
How we test Envira galleries
We run each check on a live site with Plathix PRO and the current Envira Gallery Lite version, on the real galleries screen.
Status Planned
Results go to Plathix Lab. Each row turns into a link once it has run.
| Check | What we verify | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Enable galleries | Turn on Envira galleries in Enabled Sections; the panel appears on the list. | Planned |
| Shortcode unchanged | Move a gallery between folders: the page that shows it looks the same. | Planned |
| Own galleries only | A user who sees only their own galleries: list and folder count side by side. | Planned |
| Search in a folder | Search the galleries list inside an open folder. | Planned |
| Trash and restore | A trashed gallery comes back to its folder. | Planned |
