Folders for Soliloquy sliders
Sliders change with the calendar: a summer slider, a holiday slider, a slider for each sale. The old ones stay in the list in case you need them again.
Plathix PRO adds private folders to the Soliloquy sliders list. Group sliders by season, campaign or page and open just the folder you need. Each slider and its shortcode stay as they are.
Last year’s sliders are still in the way
You keep old sliders because next year you will copy them. Meanwhile the Soliloquy list mixes this week’s home page slider with every past sale.
Soliloquy Lite has no categories for sliders. So the name does the filing: a subject, a section and a number, or just “Home slider NEW”.
Sliders get names like codes, just to be found again
When the slider list grows, people invent their own filing system: a code in each name, a copy for each language, a slider for each part of the site.
Some 800 sliders, each name built from the subject, the section and a number, so the right one can be found.
Pages about product A need one slider, pages about product B another one, and so on.
To start a similar slider, for example for another language, you copy one you already have.
A folder does the job the code in the name was doing: one folder per season, campaign, page or language.
Folders that follow your marketing calendar
By season
Spring, summer, autumn and winter sliders in one folder per year. Next season starts from last year’s copy.
By campaign
One folder for each sale or launch, so a campaign’s sliders stay together while it runs and after it ends.
By page
Home page, shop and landing page sliders apart, so you edit the slider of the page you mean.
Retired sliders
Sliders you no longer show go to a Retired folder instead of the Trash. They keep their slides and settings.
One tree for every slider
A folder tree next to the list
The panel sits beside the Soliloquy sliders list. Click a folder and the list shows only its sliders.
A Folder column
Every row shows its folder, beside Soliloquy’s own Shortcode and Last Modified columns.
Status tabs and dates
Drafts, published sliders and the date filter work inside the open folder.
A link for each folder
The address changes when you open a folder, so you can bookmark it or send it to a teammate.
Soliloquy never sees your folders
| What you do | What changes | What stays as it is |
|---|---|---|
| Put a slider in a folder | Its Plathix folder | The slider, its slides and its settings |
| Rename or move a folder | The folder tree in wp-admin | Every page that shows the slider |
| Move a slider to Retired | Its Plathix folder | Its status: a published slider stays published |
| Trash a slider, then restore it | Its Trash state | Its folder: it comes back to the same place |
| Turn Plathix PRO off | The list looks like plain WordPress | Your folders wait in the database and come back |
Folders have no URLs and never appear on the site.
How we test Soliloquy sliders
We run each check on a live site with Plathix PRO and the current Soliloquy Lite version, on the real sliders screen.
Status Planned
Results go to Plathix Lab. Each row turns into a link once it has run.
| Check | What we verify | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Enable sliders | Turn on Soliloquy sliders in Enabled Sections; the panel appears on the list. | Planned |
| Shortcode unchanged | Move a slider between folders: the page that shows it looks the same. | Planned |
| Drafts in folders | Draft and published sliders together in one folder count. | Planned |
| Search in a folder | Search the sliders list inside an open folder. | Planned |
| Trash and restore | A trashed slider comes back to its folder. | Planned |
