Folders for EventON events

EventON can filter its Events list by past and current events, status and month. It has no place for the groups your team thinks in: a season, a client, a program, the events you run every year.

Plathix PRO adds private folders to the EventON Events list. File past events by year, group events by season or client, and keep them published. The calendar, event pages and event types stay as they are.

One list for every year

Past, current, and everything at once

EventON lets you switch the Events list between past events, current events, one status or one month. That helps you find a date.

It does not help you find a program. Last summer’s festival, one client’s events, the classes you run every winter: they all sit in the same list.

Event types could group them, but event types are public, with their own pages on the site. A private group for your team needs a place of its own.

In people’s words

Thousands of events, page after page

A busy EventON calendar keeps every event that ever ran. When the list gets long, the first question is how to get rid of the old ones.

Almost 6,500 events in the list. Going through them page by page would take forever.

If past events do not go away on their own, someone has to remove them by hand.

Deleting old events seems so final. And once they are gone, you cannot copy them for next year.

Folders give another answer: keep past events published, file them by year, and open them only when you need them.

Folders that match how your calendar fills up

Past events by year

Move finished events to “Past 2025”. They stay published and their pages keep working.

By season

Winter season, Summer season, Festival week: plan one season without the others in view.

By client or partner

For agencies and venues that host events for others: Client A, Client B, Partners.

Annual events

Keep the events you run every year in one folder, ready to copy when the new dates are set.

Work in progress

Drafts to check, events waiting for photos or a location. A to-do list next to the events.

Archive without deleting.Past events go into a folder. They stay published on the site and out of your way in wp-admin.
What you get

Folders on the list you already use

A folder tree next to Events

The panel sits beside the EventON Events list. Click a folder and the list shows only its events.

Your EventON filters stay

The past and current, status and month filters stay above the list, next to the folder panel.

A Folder column

Each event shows its folder in a Folder column, to the right of EventON’s own columns.

A link for each folder

The address changes when you open a folder, so you can bookmark it or send it to a teammate.

Virtual folders

The calendar never sees your folders

EventON folders FAQ

Do folders change my calendar or event URLs?
No. Folders live in wp-admin only. Event pages, their addresses and the calendar stay as they are.
How is a folder different from an event type?
An event type is part of the event and has its own page on the site. A folder is private to wp-admin and never appears in the calendar.
Can I archive past events without deleting them?
Yes. Put them in a folder. They stay published, and you open the folder only when you need them.
Do locations and organizers get folders?
No. In EventON they are terms, like categories, not lists of their own. Events get folders.
Do folders appear with EventON Lite too?
Yes. EventON Lite keeps events in the normal WordPress list, and the folder panel sits on that list.
Is this in Plathix Free?
No. Content folders are part of Plathix PRO. Free organizes the Media Library.
