Folders for EventPrime events
A weekly class in EventPrime is not one row: every date is its own event in the list. Add a concert season and two conferences, and the list runs to hundreds of rows.
Plathix PRO adds private folders to the EventPrime events list and to Performers. Group events by season, series or client, and open just the folder you need. Event pages, tickets and bookings stay as they are.
Fifty-two Mondays in one list
When an event repeats in EventPrime, each date becomes its own event in the admin list, often with the same name. A weekly class for a year is 52 rows, next to your concerts, workshops and last year’s events.
The list can filter by created date or by event date. It cannot show “this season” or “Client A” unless you remember every date.
Over 1,500 events, five with almost the same name
EventPrime sites with weekly classes grow fast, because each date is its own event in the list. The hard part is finding the one you need.
Well over 1,500 events, most of them weekly repeats. Finding the right one in All Events to update it is a frustration every time.
Five fitness classes with almost the same name. You check the start date, then the weekday, then the time.
A weekly event set to repeat for 52 weeks. The dates that are over still sit in the All Events list.
To change an event, you go to the dashboard, into Events, and look for it. With so many events, that is a pain.
Folders keep each series, season or client together, so you open one folder instead of searching the whole list.
Folders that match how you run a season
By season
Concert season, summer program, winter term. One folder holds the whole season, every repeat date included.
One folder per series
Put all 52 dates of the weekly class into one folder, and the rest of the list stays readable.
By client or conference
Organizing for others? A folder per client or per conference keeps their sessions together.
Past events by year
Move last year’s events to “Past 2025”. They keep their pages and their bookings. The list you work in shows what is next.
Performers by role
Speakers, artists, hosts: performers get a folder tree of their own, separate from events.
Folders on two EventPrime lists
Events
The panel sits beside the EventPrime events list. Click a folder and the list shows only its events.
Performers
Performers are a list of their own, with their own folder tree.
A Folder column
Every row shows its folder; click it to open that folder.
A link for each folder
The address changes when you open a folder, so you can bookmark it or send it to a teammate.
EventPrime never sees your folders
| What you do | What changes | What stays as it is |
|---|---|---|
| Put an event in a folder | Its Plathix folder | Date, venue, tickets, bookings and URL |
| Move a season into “Past 2025” | The folder tree in wp-admin | The calendar on your site and every event page |
| Put a performer in a folder | Its Plathix folder | The performer’s page and the events that list them |
| Trash an event, then restore it | Its Trash state | Its folder: it comes back to the same place |
| Turn Plathix PRO off | The list looks like plain WordPress | Your folders wait in the database and come back |
Folders have no URLs, never appear in the calendar and are not event types.
How we test EventPrime
We run each check on a live site with Plathix PRO and the current EventPrime version, on the real events and performers lists.
Status Planned
Results go to Plathix Lab. Each row turns into a link once it has run.
| Check | What we verify | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Enable events | Turn on Events in Enabled Sections; the panel and the Folder column appear on the list. | Planned |
| Performers | Performers in their own folder tree. | Planned |
| Repeating events | Every date of a series in one folder; a changed repeat rule puts the new dates in Uncategorized. | Planned |
| EventPrime filters | Folder filter together with the Created Date and Event Date filters. | Planned |
| Duplicate Event | Check which folder the copy lands in. | Planned |
| Trash and restore | A trashed event comes back to its folder. | Planned |
