Folders for MemberPress coupons and rules

A code for every sale, a code for every partner, a rule for every protected area. The lists are short at launch and much longer a few campaigns later.

Plathix PRO adds private folders to the MemberPress Coupons, Rules and Groups lists. File codes by campaign or partner, and rules by the part of the site they protect. What a coupon gives and what a rule protects stay as they are.

Short lists that grow

Every campaign leaves codes behind

When a sale ends, its codes usually stay: you need them for your records, or for the customer who writes a week later. Partner codes and one-off support codes join them in the same list.

MemberPress removes the Draft and Published tabs and the date filter from these lists. Search is the main way in. A folder gives you a second one.

In people’s words

Rules that multiply, and coupons by the thousand

People who run membership sites describe two lists that only grow: access rules and discount codes.

When each course, page or video gets its own rule, every new one adds another rule.

Set up item by item, one membership level alone can need forty rules.

Over 1,400 coupons, and they get hard to manage in the long run.

More than a hundred thousand old codes, used or expired, and the wish to just get rid of them.

Folders split the Coupons and Rules lists by campaign, partner or protected area. Old codes can stay for your records in a folder of their own.

Folders that match how you sell memberships

Coupons by campaign

One folder per sale: Black Friday, spring, launch week. Next year you start from last year’s folder, not from a search.

Partner codes

Each partner’s codes in one place, so “which codes did we give them?” has a quick answer.

Rules by protected area

Courses, downloads, member pages, the forum: file each rule by the part of the site it protects.

Groups by pricing page

Groups build the pages that compare memberships. Keep the live pages apart from tests and old versions.

Past campaigns

Expired codes go to an archive folder instead of being deleted, so the history stays.

What you get

Three MemberPress lists, three folder trees

Coupons

A tree on the Coupons list, for campaigns, partners and support codes.

Rules

Rules get their own tree, filed by what they protect.

Groups

A third tree for groups and the pricing pages they build.

Not Memberships

The Memberships list has an internal name longer than 17 characters, so Plathix cannot add folders to it.

Virtual folders

MemberPress never sees your folders

MemberPress folders FAQ

Why can’t I put Memberships in folders?
MemberPress gives the Memberships list an internal name of 18 characters. WordPress limits how long the folder name built from it can be, so Plathix supports names up to 17. Coupons, rules and groups fit.
Does a folder change who can see protected content?
No. Rules and memberships decide access. A folder only changes your view of the list in wp-admin.
If I file a coupon under “Past campaigns”, does it stop working?
No. The code works until it expires or you change it in MemberPress. The folder is only a label for you.
Can I put members or transactions in folders?
No. MemberPress keeps them in its own tables and screens, not in a WordPress list.
Is this in Plathix Free?
No. Content folders are part of Plathix PRO. Free organizes the Media Library.
