Folders for Ultimate Member forms
Ultimate Member starts with three forms: Default Registration, Default Login and Default Profile. Add a second role, a second language or a test copy, and the list doubles.
Plathix PRO adds private folders to the Forms and Member Directories lists. File forms by role, by language or as test copies. Shortcodes, pages and member profiles stay as they are.
“Duplicate of …” and which one is live?
Ultimate Member’s Duplicate action makes a copy called “Duplicate of …”. It is the easy way to start a form for a new role, or to try a change without touching the live form.
The list shows each form’s type and whether it is a default. It does not show which copy belongs to which role, or which one was only a test.
A form for every role and every language
Ultimate Member sites start with three forms. People describe how that number multiplies.
Three roles, bronze, silver and gold, and a profile form for each. Soon there are a lot of forms.
Two login forms, two registration forms, two profile forms and two member directories: one full set for each audience.
A registration form and a login form for every language, each one known by its form ID.
Two member directories: a short list for the home page and a full page with search and filters.
Folders keep each role’s or each language’s forms together, so it is clear which set belongs where.
Folders that match how your site is built
By role
Students and teachers, buyers and sellers: each role’s registration and profile forms side by side.
By language
If you keep a form for each language, a folder for each language keeps the pairs together.
Test copies
Every “Duplicate of …” goes to a Test copies folder until you use it or delete it.
Member directories by audience
Directories for the public, for members and for staff, each in its own folder in the Member Directories list.
Two Ultimate Member lists, two folder trees
Forms
Registration, login and profile forms in one tree.
Member Directories
Directories get their own tree, apart from forms.
A link for each folder
The address changes when you open a folder, so you can bookmark it or send it to a teammate.
Search inside a folder
Search for a form by name inside the open folder.
Members never see your folders
| What you do | What changes | What stays as it is |
|---|---|---|
| Put a form in a folder | Its Plathix folder | Its fields, its type and its shortcode |
| File a default form | Its Plathix folder | Its Default status |
| Rename or move a folder | The folder tree in wp-admin | Every page that shows the form |
| Trash a form, then restore it | Its Trash state | Its folder: it comes back to the same place |
| Turn Plathix PRO off | The lists look like plain WordPress | Your folders wait in the database and come back |
Folders have no URLs and never appear on profiles, directories or forms.
How we test Ultimate Member folders
We run each check on a live site with Plathix PRO and the current Ultimate Member version, on the real Forms and Member Directories lists.
Status Planned
Results go to Plathix Lab. Each row turns into a link once it has run.
| Check | What we verify | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Enable both lists | Turn on forms and member directories in Enabled Sections; a panel appears on each list. | Planned |
| Folder column | Whether the Folder column shows next to Ultimate Member’s own columns. | Planned |
| Duplicate | Where a “Duplicate of …” form lands. | Planned |
| Pages unchanged | A registration page and a member directory look the same with folders on. | Planned |
| Trash and restore | A trashed form comes back to its folder. | Planned |
