Folders for Simple Job Board jobs

The free Simple Job Board has no Filled or Closed state. When a role is filled, you delete the job, unpublish it by hand or leave it where it is. A year later, open roles and old ones share one list.

Plathix PRO adds private folders to the Job Board list. Sort jobs by team, hiring round or year and open just the folder you need. Your careers page, job URLs, categories and locations stay as they are.

No Filled state

Filled roles have nowhere to go

In Simple Job Board a job has the usual WordPress statuses: published, draft, private and so on. There is no Filled or Closed state, so old roles stay mixed with the open ones, or wait in drafts until the same role opens again.

The jobs list has no filter by team or hiring round. Job categories, types and locations are public: each one makes a page on your careers site. They are not the place for internal notes.

A folder is. It groups jobs for your team in wp-admin and changes nothing on the site.

In people’s words

Old roles wait in drafts until they open again

Teams that post their own jobs talk less about new roles and more about the old ones: filled, parked or posted again.

Jobs come and go. They sit in drafts until the same role is hiring again.

A filled job should leave the careers page but stay in the jobs list, in case the role opens again.

An Archive category was the first idea. It stops working when new categories are added all the time.

Many roles are almost the same. Typing every field again for each new post takes a lot of time.

Folders give filled and parked roles their own place in wp-admin, with no public category and nothing deleted.

Folders for a careers page

By team

Warehouse, office, stores: each hiring manager finds their roles in one click.

By hiring round

Spring hiring, summer staff, graduate program 2026: keep a round together from the first post to the last hire.

Filled roles, kept

Set a filled job to Draft or Private, as you would in WordPress, and move it to a Filled folder. It is off the careers page but still at hand if the role opens again.

Jobs to review

A new job lands in Uncategorized. A To check folder holds the ones that still need a last read before they go live.

Roles you post every year

Keep last year’s seasonal posts in one folder as a starting point for the next season.

What you get

The folder panel on the All Jobs screen

A folder tree next to your jobs

The panel sits beside Job Board → All Jobs. Click a folder and the list shows only its jobs.

Drafts and private jobs count

A folder counts what the All view shows: published, scheduled, draft, pending and private jobs. Trash is not counted.

A Folder column

Every row shows its folder, along with Job Categories, Job Locations and the View Applications link.

A link for each folder

The address changes when you open a folder. Send a hiring manager the link to their team’s folder.

Virtual folders

Your careers page never sees your folders

Simple Job Board folders FAQ

Do folders change my careers page?
No. Folders live in wp-admin only. Job pages, URLs, categories and locations stay as they are.
Does moving a job to a Filled folder close it?
No. The job keeps its status. Set it to Draft or Private to take it off the site.
Should I use a folder or a job category?
A category for what candidates see, a folder for how your team works. Categories make pages on the site; folders never do.
Do applications get folders?
No. Applications keep their own list without folders. The View Applications link works as before.
Is this in Plathix Free?
No. Content folders are part of Plathix PRO. Free organizes the Media Library.
